Women in Data – Data for Good
The name of the organization/event I went to is called Women in Data and was centered around the topic of how to use data for good. This activity took place at the Roberts Center for Pediatric Research on October 26, 2019. At this event I accompanied many women who were in the field of Data Analytics and listened to the keynote speaker, Cindi Howson educate us on how we can use data to make the world a better place. I learned how data analytics can be used to treat diseases and how it can be used to help animal shelters along with many other things going on in the world that people aren\\\\\\\’t talking about. I believe this activity relates to my coursework and career goals because I am currently in a data analytics class and currently participating in a data analytics challenge. As I was listening to Cindi explain how data analysts obtain, extract, and put data to use to answer tough questions to change the world it helped me understand the true purpose of data science and why it might be a field I decide to look in depth more.
