Work & Volunteer Experiences

I worked at Summit Roofing & Siding Co. for 4 years, the first two as a laborer and the second two as a bookkeeper. As a bookkeeper I was in charge of paying out coming checks, depositing checks, scheduling appointments, scheduling material drop off, I did other various smaller things also. In my time at Summit I really grew to understand how important communication is, in a business of three workers (one being me) and working with different contractors all of the time, dates, times, and locations get misconstrued. Communication is a skill that I will always express is important no matter what the situation is.

I was a volunteer soccer coach for U12 girls at Warrington Soccer Club. The main reason I did this was because of my sister needing a coach, but, I am a soccer fanatic and I could not say no to the opportunity. This role as a coach was so great for my development, I first had to please the parents, fortunately they were all wonderful people. Secondly, I had to keep control of girls that were 12 and younger! (Easier said than done!) The season went extremely well, we went to the second round of playoffs and unfortunately lost to a very good team. This experience taught me about leadership, I had to bring these girls together when they did not know each other, did not play for years or just plainly did not care. They ended up having a blast and were happy to have me as a coach, and I learned that there is no other feeling than when you are able to lead a team to victory.
