Risk Management

Risk Management 2101 was a challenging class that was a prerequisite for all Fox business students. However, I enjoyed the course and as time progressed I learned that it compliments my MIS courses well. It gave me further knowledge on how to deal with a crisis and manage a team ethically. This course relates to a job interest of mine as a Associate project manager.  Associate project manager helps resolve project conflicts, identify resource requirements and align the project team on project scope. They observe existing project management practices and propose improvements for process efficiency. Essentially, project management associates ensure that projects are effectively planned and well-organized. Risk Management gave me a different perspective to mastering these job skills. I hope to get my masters in Risk Management to further my abilities as an MIS professional.

  • Topics: Means of identification, evaluation, and treatment of these risks are analyzed, with the methods of treatment including insurance, risk retention, self-insurance, and loss control.

Digital Design and Innovation Studio

In my Digital Design and Innovation Studio course I was given the opportunity to create a business solution for a real company, TAPP Networks. This course was very hands on and we were to work in groups during the entire semester. The course structure enabled me to further my group work skills and gain insight into what a business analyst would be doing in the real world. It also relates to a job interested I have as a BA. A BA interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs. The analyst gathers, documents, and analyzes business needs and requirements. This is exactly what we have done in the course and this gave me practice for if I decide to pursue a Business Analyst job.
