Zara – Cross-trained Cashier and Sales Associate
I was the cashier/sales associates at Zara in Mclean, Virginia during the summer of 2015 and Christmas 2015, going into the new year. I transferred to the Washington, D.C location during the summer of 2016 and worked part-time during the summer of 2017. My responsibilities included assisting customers with questions and concerns about merchandise, assisting the customer in transactions, and opening/closing the register. My co-workers and I worked as a team to meet department sales goals. I learned how to multi-task in a busy work environment and I built more on customer service skills.
Menchie’s – Key Holder
I was the cashier and a key holder at Menchie’s around U St. corridor in Washington, DC from June 2013 until May 2015. I started off as a cashier then was promoted to a key holder. My responsibilities included opening and closing the store, maintaining cleanliness of the store, interacting with customers to ensure an enjoyable experience and handling monetary transactions. I learned valuable skills such as customer service and communication skills. It was a great experience because we attracted tourists at our location and I was always learning new things.
