Internship
I am currently participating in the Internship Program with Protiviti as an IAFA – IT Audit consultant. Prior to client work, Protiviti sent all 250+ interns down to Orlando, Florida for a ten day orientation called, The Intern Challenge. The Challenge included a series of presentations from various individuals within the company explaining different parts about the company, as well as personal accounts with clients. Participants also go through a week long client simulation in preparation for actual client work.
Over the course of the summer I will be assigned to three different clients, each with a different project. My first project was with QVC where our team assisted QVC’s Internal Audit group to monitor their IT SOX compliance in preparation for the external audit. I was given an exorbinant amount of responsibility and attended meetings regularly on site with the client. I was often tasked with testing various controls that were outlined during a risk assessment that I would later turn into work papers, which were submitted to the client as findings.
My current client is Radian at the headquarters in Philadelphia working on their NIST compliance. This product has been slightly different from the first, being that it’s cyber security. The majority of my time working with this client has been interacting in meetings and helping to document and identify procedures the firm has in place.
