SEO Associate Intern

Trinity Insight is a small digital marketing and e-commerce company based from Minnesota. During my time there I worked at their Philadelphia office in Old City with the SEO team made up of eight other SEO professionals. I was employed as a SEO Associate Intern, however I was tasked with projects in data analytics and web design due to my technical background. In this position I worked on multiple client projects ranging from web design, content management, creating proposals, and doing data analytics.

I had projects where I did web design through WordPress, managed digital content, performed data analytics, created client-ready reports, conducted keyword research for client insights, and worked on team projects ranging from web audits to site analytics. The keyword research that I conducted would be catered to what client needs were. Sometimes my research would be useful for helping clients come up with new content to populate their pages, or sometimes it would be used for making adjustments to already existing pages and optimizing the content.

My favorite project I completed was a proposal to Crayola for a e-commerce opportunity for the winter season. I performed a web audit on their existing holiday pages and created recommendations for changes that would be SEO friendly, help them rank for certain keywords, and drive more sales. I used Google Analytics to help me identify issues with the web page, and utilized Google Keyword Planner to do research on key terms  that would be helpful for Crayola to pursuit. Additionally, I created recommendations for optimizing their existing products and pages to help them rank well on search engines. When I completed the proposal, it was presented to Crayola and they are now taking the steps, and following some of my recommendations, to preparing their holiday page for the winter season.

Through this internship I was able to apply concepts and practices learned from my major courses into a real world setting. Skills I had learned in my data analytics class helped me create meaningful and easily understandable visualizations that were beneficial to my client. Additionally, the Microsoft Excel skills a learned in my classes were greatly useful for me when I was trying to find meaningful information from extremely large data sets. I was also able to apply coding skills from data-centric application development when I had web design projects. I was able to provide simple and and efficient CSS and PHP to help me solve issues that would be going on. Overall, it was a very good experience and I met some awesome people who helped me grow during my time at Trinity Insight.
