Software Developer Intern June 2017 – April 2018
- Worked with a team of developers to create a responsive web application that calculated the risk tolerance of users and made investments according to the risk level.
- Shadowed a senior developer and technical team lead to write clean code and learn the process of how a new project is formed from the beginning.
- Attended daily scrum meetings and presented work progress to the project team.
Through this internship I have experienced a project from the beginning to end. Sooryen is a start up company that gives technical solutions for many companies. I have joined a team of developers to work on a reactive financial technology website. Our team used ReactJS despite the fact that no one knew how to code in this language. This however, was a big learning experience for me. We were given couple of days to ramp up and start using the coding language. This internship helped me prepare in building my career through many activities such as scrum meetings which was held to update each other in what was finished and what need to get done, fast pace of ramping up on a new coding languages, and shadowing a senior developer really helped me learn how to code in a clean fashion and follow the rules set for the developers of the project.

- Regularly check inventory for all products sold and verify cash correct cash drawer balances at the end of the night.

- Organized inventory in back stock and displayed products being sold.
- Trained new employees in using the cashier, administrative duties, and customer service.
- Responded to customer needs providing information about products, aisle location, back stock checks, and price verification for up to 180 customers daily.
