Hobbies and Interests
Hobbies:
Baseball
Growing up baseball has been a huge part of my life, whether it is as a bystander watching the Phillies or an athlete on a team. Starting from when I was four years old until the present time I have taken roles both on the field as a player and off the field as a coach. Playing through Whitemarsh Township’s Little League program, Whitemarsh Junior American Legion, Whitemarsh Senior American Legion, as well as for my grade school (Saint Philip Neri), and high school team (Plymouth Whitemarsh High school); as well as coaching for an AAU team, “The Whitemarsh Generals”, I progressed not only as a play
er and coach but as an individual. Being an athlete and a coach has given me the ability to work well in teams, both as a “doer” and as a “leader. Receiving awards such as MVP, Coach’s Award, and Suburban One All League twice in high school, along with various others, is something that I have taken pride in; knowing that I worked hard for something and dedicated my time to it and received recognition for that means a lot to me. I like to perform at a high level, no matter what it is or under any circumstances, achieving high level performance on or off the field holds a lot of importance to me.
Traveling
One of my favorite hobbies is to travel. Although I am not the best flyer, being ab
le to experience places and cultures that are unfamiliar to me is something I really enjoy. I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit places such as Spain where I visited the cities of Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, and Pedraza, Italy where I visited Rome, and the cities of Tuscany, Jamaica where I visited Negril and Montego Bay, and various states in the U.S. What I love about traveling is that I am able to experience and see things that many people all over the world have never seen or experienced. It is not every day that an American can experience a bull fight, eat a slice of pizza sitting by the Trevi fountain, wine taste on a vineyard in Florence, or lay on the beach
es of Jamaica. The most important thing that comes from traveling is the ability to interact with people of different backgrounds and culture. Having the understanding on how to interact with individuals from a different society I believe is of significant importance not only in the business world but in life in general.
Interests:
House Flipping
Working with several different general contracting companies I always have always had the desire to get my hands dirty in my work. I love the atmosphere of a construction site. The risk of the flipping industry is appealing to me, the unknown factors of probability and potential burdens throughout the project is not always the best, but fulfilling when you get past them. Being able to watch the progression of a project go from a house that cannot sell on the market to having buyers swarm your property makes for a lot of enjoyment and something that I would take a lot of pride in. It’s my dream to one day own my own house flipping business; when the time is right and the real estate market takes a turn.
Than Merrill, a real estate investor, founder and president of Fortunebuilders and CT homes, is someone I really look up to in the industry. Featured on A&E’s reality show Flip This House, Than has established himself as a respected expert in the real estate field with specialties in Real Estate Education, Real Estate Investing, Teaching, Internet Marketing, Flipping Houses and much more. His ability to spot out potential profit is brought forth by his overall business knowledge. His company has purchased, rehabbed, and wholesaled over 180 family homes in the past 3 years. I aspire to succeed just as Than has by following in his footsteps of being able to create success threw gaining knowledge and doing so with enduring enthusiasm.
