AIS National Competition: Sam Walton Blockchain Hackathon Challenge
In Spring 2020, I competed in the AIS SCLC National Competition. I competed in the Sam Walton Blockchain Hackathon Challenge. My team developed a solution that can help small farmers sufficiently manage their supply chain. My team and I advanced to the final rounds which were supposed to be held in Illinois but due to the pandemic; the conference was canceled and changed to a virtual format. I presented my team’s solution virtually and handled all the questions during the Q and A session. My team placed third overall. Prior to this competition I had zero experience with blockchain technology. This competition has taught me how to utilize new technologies to solve business problems and improve operations. The judges were impressed with articulation of feasibility of our Blockchain solution for the Heifer-International business problem/use case.
