My first job after moving to Philadelphia in 2008  (though, not in the least my first ever) was working as a sales associate for Hallmark. I was employed by them for 2 years, and although I never received a formal promotion, I was given increasingly more responsibility over my time with them. After about 6 months of working in one retail location, I was moved to a new branch (just down the hall, but a move nonetheless). I was given control of the store shortly thereafter and enjoyed tasks such as opening and closing procedures, training new employees, ordering new products for the store, re-arranging the store to enhance customer purchase amounts, and handling all monetary-related duties as well.
