During my short time at Timothy’s on the Riverfront (a Wilmington, DE- based bar, grill, and banquet hall) I made considerable headway. I began as a hostess for the restaurant, which is the typical entry position for the front-of-house portion of the restaurant industry. I quickly moved my way through almost every position in the restaurant and consequently taking on more responsibility with every move. After hostess, I was a food-runner to assist the servers. I then moved on to becoming a server in the restaurant. After mastering the bar-and-grill side of the restaurant, I became a banquet server as well which allowed me be involved with events ranging from surprise-birthday parties to class reunions to elegant weddings. Because of my increasing proficiency in the restaurant, I was promoted to Floor Manager which allowed me to handle every aspect of FOH operations on a day-to-day basis.
