Coursework

Data-Centric Application Development

In this computer science course, we learned how to code; one of the hardest tasks I have ever been required to do. This was my first time coding from scratch, and learning HTML and PHP was truly like learning a foreign language. I was lucky enough to have a great professor, Brad Greenwood, and learned a great deal in the course, with work ethic being the most important of all. It was the first course that I had to work on nearly every single day of the semester in order to stay afloat, and the result of that was a obtaining a fantastic base in coding for when I enter the field.

Data Analytics

We learned all about analyzing and comprehending massive data sets, as well as multiple different methods of organizing them. In addition to organizing big data, we worked on data visualization and trend analysis. Software like R and R studio and MySQL workbench were perfect tools for organizing and presenting large data sets, and I continue to use these programs in current classes as well.

Financial Accounting

Even though I did not believe my professors when they said I would use the information in this class all the time for the rest of my life, I do now. Temple makes this class very difficult on purpose and it was a great challenge that I put all my effort into. Having a strong base of accounting knowledge has made my life easier in both a handful of new courses as well as having intellectual conversations with professors and other professionals. My A- in this course is the grade I am most proud of so far at Temple.
