Cloud-based Analytics

Cloud-based Analytics in Data Analytics

Cloud-based analytics can be understood as a combination of both technological and analytical tools that aid with the extraction of information from a large collection of data large collections such as a data warehouse are available through the user’s web browser through a public or private cloud. It has the same basis of a typical data analytics service with the additional integration of cloud computing to deliver solutions on a fast timeline and meet aggressive growth plans.

By enabling new innovations cloud-based analytics has become a new standard for organizations of all sizes. Many businesses use cloud-based analytics to host data warehouses, software-as-a-service, business intelligence, and cloud-based social medial analytics. Cloud analytics are everywhere and it is nearly impossible to identify a consumer or business that has not be impacted by it.

As learned in MIS2502 while focusing on ETL, uniform data warehouses are an essential component to any type of organization. Cloud-based analytics offers insight to analyzable elements. MIS2502 illustrated how difficult data is to process when it does not remain uniform throughout the entire warehouse. By using a cloud-based platform organizations are able to store all of their data in a central location with uniform properties and  the data efficiently to collect more accurate data.

Bluescope Steel uses cloud-based analytics as the forefront of managing their application portfolios and in their current IT systems enabling end-to-end IT as-a-service. They also incorporate cloud services in the expansion of their service desk, workplace, network, cyber security, and platform support services providing a gain on competitors. Cloud-based analytics has permitted Bluescope to focus on their end-to-service delivery during a four business integration in efforts to create uniform data throughout promoting a gain even during a transformation.
