I recently concluded working as an intern at eResource Technology located at 1818 Market St. Philadelphia, PA. eResource Technology, also known as ERT for short, is a solutions provider that harmonizes data from clinical studies to deliver insights to optimize trial performance. ERT has been providing better health for 40 years now in areas of Cardiac Safety, Respiratory, Suicide Risk Assessment, and Clinical Outcome Assessments. Although located in Philadelphia, ERT is a global organization performing studies around the world with the help of the additional offices in the United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany. ERT represents a company wide goal to improve patient quality and safety along with transform healthcare by using predictive analytics; metadata and technology.
My official title at ERT is a Project Management Intern. As an intern I shadowed the Project Management staff and performed the designated tasks in support of study set-up, monitoring and closeout. I was responsible for aiding project teams in program level planning, coding, and implementation of software designed for tablets and e-diaries (eCOA) and cardiac safety clinical trials. I also assisted in presenting project services at client meetings, including bid defenses, project kick-off meetings, and client governance meetings. I worked with members of product management, software development, and IT to review project scopes and developed software functionally to meet each clients expectations. I helped the project team manage study budget, device allocation, and project milestones by generating reports out of an EXPERT 3.0 database. In addition my responsibilities include assisting with documentation management for paper and the electronic study files received globally, assisting with meeting preparation and report generation/review, performing study archiving, and providing administrative support to the Project Managers.
As an intern at ERT I was provided with numerous opportunities on special projects and outside jobs which has allowed me to have hands on exposure in all sections of the product management, software development, and IT teams. I was with ERT for four months and am anxious to return in the future.
