IT Career Fair (2013)
In 2013 I attended the Temple University IT Career Fair. I was given the chance to interact with top employers interested in Temple IT students. This allowed me to have many of my work-related questions answered and really pick at the cultures of each company in order to determine my level of interest. I was initially not particularly interested in any of the attendees (despite many of them being high-profile), but I found myself drawn to a few companies in particular, such as Lockheed-Martin, who’s representative was extremely knowledgeable and down-to-earth, a quality of recruiter that I tend to look for. He even gave me a few pointers about my resume, completely separate from our discussion about the company. I believe every MIS student should attend this career fair at least once, as it is a fantastic (and easy) opportunity to learn more about many of the companies that will likely be our future employers.
