Technology Intern

COMCAST CORPORATION

Technology Intern

In Spring 2019, I was excited to join Comcast as a technology intern in the Comcast Global Audit department. It was my first internship and I learned so many new things about technology and business.

As a technology intern, I gained in-depth technology knowledge such as IT operations, configuration management, logical access and cybersecurity. The Enterprise IT Architecture class from my MIS major has helped me greatly in forming a foundation of information systems knowledge. Besides that, I also gained great insights on how Comcast operates and many other businesses within Comcast through interviewing clients. I had an awesome team who are willing to teach me about infrastructure and IT knowledge to help me perform my work, and always be there for me whenever I need consulting. With my technical background from the MIS classes, a great learning environment at Comcast, and great support from my team, I successfully assisted my team in IT auditing three Comcast businesses in two quarters, identifying critical IT risks and suggesting solutions for clients to manage their IT systems securely.

My most favorite experience with Comcast is my first-ever work trip to New York with my team. We went to New York for a week to interview clients to understand their business and technology systems and provide consulting to improve their IT systems to meet their business objectives. It was an amazing opportunity to work out of town and experience the work life in the hustle and bustle of New York city. I could also see two different business segments in Comcast: Cable and NBCUniversal. I also got the NBCU tour everyday and saw the SNL studios.

The experience with Comcast for a semester was an amazing opportunity and a learning curve for me. I value all the knowledge, skill sets and relationship that I have gained from the internship and be ready to unlock new challenge and one step closer to my goal: bridging technology advancement and business objectives.
