Education Coursework

At Temple’s Fox School of Business I took the following Management Information Systems courses thusfar. Click here to see an index of what each course entails:

  • Data Science: In this course I was taught how to filter through data. For example, it shows what is considered bad data, and how to clean it. The bulk of the class let students create data visualizations using the software Tableau.
  • Information Systems in Organizations: Here I learned about entity relationship diagrams, enterprise systems, business analytics, and the ethics of information technology
  • Data Analytics: Probably my favorite class thusfar in the Management Information Systems courses. It has taught me how to collect data, retrieve it with a structured query language (SQL), create pivot tables in excel of the data, and use R Studios to analyize and predict what is next. It also shows me how data mining works, therefore helping in business intelligence.
  • Data Centric Application Development: This course exposed me to programming. By the end of the course, I can write and form a website/application from scratch. I can also troubleshoot errors that may occur in the code (on Netbeans). I learned programming languages such as PHP, CSS, HTML, SQL, and PDO.

In Fall of 2017 I am taking the following Management Information System courses:

  • Enterprise IT Architecture: This course focuses on hardware, software, cloud computing, and operation systems. Overall it will be showing me the platforms available and what hardware/equipment is needed for it.
  • Digital Solutions Studio: This course is essentially the next level of Data Centric Application Development. We will be created web based applications and will be creating our own softwares to connect to our database.
