Joseph Allegra is Senior Program Specialist for the Management Information Systems (MIS) department and Student Chapter Field Representative for Association of Information Systems (AIS).
As Senior Program Specialist, Joe manages communications with graduate and undergraduate students by acting as an advisor and advocate. His advising role consists of student recruitment, troubleshooting student advising issues, and coordination with the professional advising staff. Joe collaborates extensively with student professional organizations and prepares and distributes the most up-to date information for all current students and alumni. He manages the Fox Computer Literacy Test, an online assessment and training software tool that tests 1200-1400 incoming business school students to determine their knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows.
As Student Chapter Field Representative, Joe assists AIS in developing student chapters for graduate and undergraduate students for the purposes of advancing the field of information systems. He also assists in developing programs, marketing materials, systems, and processes to effectively build student chapters worldwide.
In addition to his responsibilities at Temple University, Joe currently videos weddings for a production company. Prior to joining Temple University’s MIS Department, Joe consulted for BDS Marketing conducting presentations and demonstrating the comprehensive business product mix for the Canon Business Solutions Program. Joe also worked for Subaru of America in their Information Technology Department where he lead the Monthly Test Fleet Survey Project and assisted with the ERP conversion.
In 2002 and 2003 Joe was recognized by the ACM student organization for providing outstanding service to students in the MIS Department. He also won the MIS Department Administrative Achievement in 2007 and 2010. Joe holds a BBA in MIS degree from the Fox School at Temple University.
