Improving One’s Blog

Over the last few weeks, us as a class have read several readings which can help improve traffic and maintain traffic to one’s blog. One reading that really caught my own attention was an article from socialmediaexaminer.com (click the image above to go directly to the article). In this article, it lists 26 tips that can help improve one’s blog. Many of these tips are self-explanatory but really do work. One point that the article really stresses is the use of images. Using videos and/or images can really catch a reader’s attention that no text can. Not only can images catch a reader’s attention, but it takes the “strain” off a reader’s eyes when an image is inserted into a blog post, especially if the blog post contains a lot of text (image will help to break up text). Although images are not the only thing that can help improve one’s blog, it definitely plays a role in your blog’s success. You may have heard the phrase, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” By complementing an image with your content on a blog, not only will the reader be able to better understand what the author (such as myself) is trying to get across, but it also adds an experience that you can’t get with just text.
