Software Engineer at UHS
UHS is one of the largest hospital management companies in both the behavioral health and acute care fields. As of 2018, UHS has over 350 facilities across the US, Puerto Rico and the UK.
I worked with the Business Intelligence and Clinical Analytics team. Some of my tasks included writing SQL for hospital records, using tableau for data visualization and application testing. This summer, I worked on a sepsis reporting tool. Our team was responsible for reconstructing the SQL script to reduce complexity and increase efficiency of the code.
A major takeaway I had from the internship was the importance of SQL in a hospital management setting. I was able to rely on skills I learned in MIS2502 and MIS3501 to improve my SQL scripting skills.
