About Me
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the youngest of three, I was raised in a working class family. My parents instilled in me that respect and success are earned, not given. This is a mentality that I’ve carried with me throughout my life, that the work put forth to accomplish a goal is just as sweet as the reward.
From a young age, I would save every penny from birthdays and holidays for that satisfaction of buying something I wanted with money that I had earned, usually a new video game or gadget. Technology has always piqued my interest and the skills I am acquiring through my MIS major have helped me gain a deeper understanding of my childhood obsession. My work ethic has never wavered since those early days, I excelled throughout high school, graduating from Chartiers Valley High School with honors, earning an academic scholarship from Temple University.
Today, I am continuing my hard work at the Fox School of Business while engaging in several extracurricular activities. I am an active member of the Temple University chapter of AIS, the Association of Information Systems as well as an avid participant in various intramural sports teams here at the university.
My professional goals and aspirations are still ever-changing as I am exposed to different technologies and software. I am particularly intrigued by big data and data analytics for business intelligence. In my part time roles in various small restaurants and pizza shops, I learned that most of our industry’s information is anecdotal. In my first management role, I was surprised to find some contradictory information in the data upon my first delve into our point of sales reporting system. This discovery, along with my interest in the data-driven decision making in professional baseball, has most recently shaped my growing professional interests in big data.
