COURSEWORK

MIS 2502 – Data Analytics

Data Analytics is designed to introduce students to analyzing data , presenting data models , and designing database centric solutions for organizations. This class introduces SQL and R to analyze and create databases. These are very important skills to solve business problems. In my current internship at Subaru of America I used SQL and enhanced my background from this course to run reports on the VIN numbers effected by the takata airbag recall to notify users to come in and get this problems fixed.

MIS 3506 – Digital Solutions Studio.

Digital Solutions Studio is designed to introduce students with all the proper terminology and processes of working with real clients and completing a project from start to finish. In this course I learned how to collect requirements, model processes and data while also designing a solution for the client. I was able to use all the skills in this course in my current internship as I was able to contribute to a project right away as I knew all the terminology and processes into writing business requirements, use cases, scope, risks, etc.

MIS 3535 – Lead Global Digital Projects.

Lead Global Digital Projects is designed to introduce students will all the skills needed to coordinate and lead business projects. Some of the skills that I learned from this course included initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects in the context of topics such as integration, scope, timing, cost, quality, human resource, technology, communications, and risk and procurement. A lot of these skills where helpful when I was introduced at work to a long project of Implementing a Project Portfolio Suite. This included implementing all the different terminology into a software IT users can use to complete their projects.
