Southeast Bank Limited – Business Analyst Internship
From June 14, 2018 to August 24, 2018, I worked as a Business Analyst Intern at Southeast Bank Limited. During the ten weeks of my internship, I had the opportunity to vastly expand my data analytics knowledge, improve my communication skills, and network with numerous people in the company.
About Southeast Bank Limited
Southeast Bank Limited is a private commercial bank headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 1995, the bank offers a wide range of financial services including consumer banking, corporate banking, investment banking, and mortgage loans. In 2017, the bank had a net income of $70 million.
Responsibilities as a BA Intern
During the summer of 2018, I worked on Southeast Bank Limited’s project to upgrade the bank’s Credit Risk Grading (C.R.G.) system. The project was intended to make the existing C.R.G. system data-driven and to streamline the credit risk grading process. As a Business Analyst Intern:
- I analyzed credit risk grade reports of 95 clients from the bank’s database using SQL to elicit data requirements for the development of the upgraded C.R.G. system.
- I conducted interviews with subject matter experts from the credit department to find out the functional requirements for the system.
- I created a prototype of the envisioned C.R.G. system using Justinmind Prototyping tool, illustrating the functional and data requirements of the system to the development team.
