My involvement with Temple’s student chapter, Society for Human Resource Management, has helped me greatly on my communication and leadership skills. I am the Communications Director and work closely with our advisers and executive board on professional development and ideas on getting our members engaged. I send out the weekly e-mails with details of each upcoming meeting, including a bio of our guest speakers, and create our Fall ’11 and Spring ’12 newsletters.

As a member of Temple SHRM, I am also a member of Philly and National SHRM. Being a member of such a prestigious professional organization has made me become more engaged with my future profession. Our student chapter is very involved with Philly SHRM’s Emerging HR Leaders Program and HR Career Development Series. Through these programs we have access to many networking events and guest speakers.
