WORK EXPERIENCE

SEI: Oaks, PA. During the summer of 2012, I was the intern for the Workforce Development team, which is equivalent to the human resources department in many companies. Throughout my time at SEI, I assisted with the on-boarding process, conducting background checks, fingerprints, and organizing the new hires’ orientation. I also co-coordinated the Summer Internship Program; this consisted of me to gather full time employees and interns for workshops and mandated job shadow days. In addition to my daily tasks, I was part of a team which conducted a case study on employee engagement and morale. This was then presented in front of hundreds of employees, and exclusively in front of the CIO.

For Your Nails Only: Camden, NJ.   I was the assistant manager and receptionist at a small beauty salon where I provided exceptional customer service to approximately 300 clients daily. I reconciled deposits, managed opening and closing security, and supervised full-time employees. Working at this salon, I learned how to communicate with people of many types of personalities, manage my time effectively, and maintain my professionalism under pressure.

Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant: Springfield, PA. As a hostess, I ensured courteous hospitality for a casual dining restaurant specializing in authentic Italian cuisine. I also worked very closely with my managers and compiled worker schedules and assisted co-workers with serving stations and carry out service when needed. I resolved customer concerns and served as liaison with kitchen, wait staff, carry out, and server assistants. Working in the restaurant industry is very fast paced. I learned how to make quick strategic decisions and multitask between greeting customers, rotate between server stations, and comply with managers orders through a headset.
