Coursework

My coursework at Temple University has prepared for applying to jobs/internships, help me narrow potential career paths and also, helped me gain many skills that will be essential in the workforce. A few of my most helpful classes are: HRM 101, MIS 2502, MIS 3501 and MIS 3504.

HRM 101 (Leadership & Organizational Management): This class taught me how to interview, how to research companies, proper business etiquette and how to network. This has been extremely helpful in expanded my personal brand within the business school. It’s taught me how to build meaningful professional relationships, whether it is in an interview room or at a social event!

MIS 2502 (Data Analytics): This class opened my eyes to the world of data analytics. We learned about designing database systems and analyzing business data to enhance a firms competitiveness. We also learned how to use SQL and R, which are two very important skills to have in our industry. After this class, I discovered my strong passion for data analytics.

MIS 3501 (Data Centric Application Development): In this class we learned how to write web applications: PHP, HTML, CSS and MYSQL. These technical skills were extremely crucial to learn because we will need to do it over and over again in our professional IT career.

MIS 3504 (Digital Design and Innovation): In this course we learned how to analyze business problems from a design perspective and develop innovation solutions. My peers and I assumed the role as business analysts and learned many skills such as stake holder analysis, business rule analysis and data and process modeling. My group and I worked on a real-life business problem, spent the semester analyzing the problem, came up with a solution, prototyped it and present it to our client. It was rewarded and enriching experience.
