India Immersion Tour
It’s a Small World, Afterall
I am constantly impressed by the caliber of Temple University’s Fox School of Business programs, faculty, and students. Last year, for the first time in the MBA program, both full-time and international program students shared a month-long pre-term course of study. Throughout that month of August, my full-time classmates and our extended cohort of 1-year international program classmates got to share stories and get to know one another. Of course, after this month ended, the international students were whisked away to study in their first country, France, for the following four months. Throughout that time, those of us who stayed in Philadelphia as full-timers witnessed many amazing adventures via social media platforms, video and image sharing tools, and long-distance conferencing software.
This month, the International class already has hopped around many parts of India – starting in Mumbai, Bangalore, and now Delhi – and will end the summer in China and Japan. The most recent video sweeping over Facebook and YouTube is this video of our classmates learning about, and actively participating in, an Indian Dance class. Check it out:

While yes – I’ll say it – this post could be a shameless plug for Fox’s MBA program which I am very passionate about. But, think of it too as an example of how small our world is today. I met 20 students in Philadelphia last August. They have since traveled to France and India, and I get to experience it all with them. Through social sharing, the world is much more visible and tangible, even for those of us who do not travel. Such vivid colors, people, experiences, stories, are shared instantaneously. The only thing missing is taste and smell!
I want to wish all of my classmates a very safe trip as they continue their journey through Asia. Read their personal blogs directly from Fox’s 2012 IMBA India Immersion Tour page.
