Greek Life

I have been a member of Delta Zeta Sorority for two years. I was initiated in Fall of 2010 and it was one of the best decisions I have made in my young life. When I came to Temple I was a commuting, transfer student. I thought the best way to get involved would be Greek life.

A friend of mine from home was in Delta Zeta at Temple and told me how much she loved it. I came out for recruitment in Fall of 2010 and found out that I too loved Delta Zeta and what it represented.

Our colors are pink and green and our mascot is a turtle!

Our national philanthropy, supported by both collegiate and alumnae chapters, is speech and hearing and The Painted Turtle camp. For the past 3 years we have held Turtle Tug in the Spring. Our philanthropy is very important to me because I have a family member who is deaf and being able to contribute to such a profound organization means the world to me. Turtle tug raises money for The Painted Turtle camp. This is a summer camp that is held for terminally ill children and all of the donations we get from the students and other Greek organizations that participate go to help these kids. Turtle tug consists is a tug of war game over a tarp that is completely covered in green jello. Whoever loses ends up in a pool full of green jello!
