I have worked at Cathedral Village for five and a half years. Cathedral Village is an upscale retirement community. It is a community of elderly people who have an option of a variety of different apartments that they can chose from to live in. The community has many opportunities to branch out and still have fun in your older years. The residents take bus trips to concerts, New York City, Phillies games, and that is to name only a few. The community of Cathedral Village gives these residents the chance to live. They have 24 hour security service that will take them anywhere they want to go. They have a dining room, which I work in, that is available for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner with top quality food. They are also able to buy groceries from the dining room such as milk, eggs, bread, lunchmeat, etc. The dining room hosts many events such as birthdays, holidays, open houses, and funeral receptions. They offer a copious amount of food for these special occasions.

There is also an assisted living part of Cathedral Village which is called Bishop White Lodge. The residents have 24 hour constant care from nurses, CNA’s. doctors, and specialists. Although we are not a hospital, residents can receive their medicines, physical therapy, and shots that they need to get year around.

Cathedral Village also offers companies and assisted living to residents who live in the regular apartments. If a resident in the apartments falls sick, they are able to have a bed in Bishop White Lodge until they are better and able to live on their own again. But even when the residents are in their own apartments on the campus, nurses and certified assisted living check up on them daily to make sure they are progressing.
