Our group was able to arrive at a consensus by first examining our individual ideas and suggestions. We compared our lists to see which of our ideas were similar, and discussed the items that were unique. Once the group began to understand the reasoning and importance of each suggestion, we compiled a list of the top 5 assumptions.
The process was not difficult because everyone was open to hearing each others opinions. It opened my awareness of how each person in the group had a different opinion and perception about how to plan a party . Some of us were very detailed with a vision of what the party should look and sound like. Others thought more broadly, looking at the planning process from a more generic perspective. The combination of the 2 different perspectives gave a more complete picture of what was needed to plan a party.
