The class was interesting and helpful especially using the case studies. I feel we learned a lot more from the case studies rather than taking a test. I also liked the guest speaker and simulations to give us real life situations.

To go along with buying food online we have done a lot of analyzing on supermarket stores online. We have seen that it is very difficult to achieve this type of business however it is still in existence. With advancements always being made to the supply chains one day online supermarkets will generate more revenue [...]

In my blog post on RFID tags I never thought about the return policy. I think this is an awesome feature RFID tags will have one day and will benefit everyone. Working in retail I know returns are a pain especially if they don’t have the receipt but if RFID tags could make it easier [...]

While the use of RFID tags have been increasing I do not think we will be around to see them applied to humans. Maybe one day this will come into play but not anytime soon. If I had to guess I would say not until the year 2100. With the increasing rate of identity theft [...]

I think the guest lecture was useful by providing us with real life information. Some things that I learned were the concept of six sigma and the DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) concept. I learned how Campbell’s soup improved their supply chain by shortening the order process using IT. Last Andy Croft explained to [...]

Some roles a MIS professional may be part of in a supply chain are combining technology with all parts of the chain. Coming up with new and more efficient ways to get the products to the customers is an important task MIS professionals will be part of. MIS professionals must be able to communicate with [...]

RFID tags are the next generation of tracking products. Not only will RFID tags be able to track products and record inventory, but customers will soon be able to go to a store and load up their cart but never be rung up by a cashier. Some pros and cons I have thought of are [...]

Anthony A Stuart commented on the blog post Q&A: Sourcing 2 years, 6 months ago
Responsiveness is a key part in assessing a suppliers performance. How fast the supply responds is important because you don’t want to rely on a supplier who is always late. You also want a supplier to inform you of any changes that incur in a specific process. Technology is important because a supplier with a [...]
