I think places like TechShop are a great tool for innovation that can lead to disruption. However, many new entrants also need to focus on developing effective business processes.

Apple’s strategy was also extremely strategic because Itunes can be used on any computer, which transcended the traditional Windows vs. Mac argument. Despite the proprietary nature of Itunes, Apple has been so successful because its music system is so universal.
