This technology can defiantly have some great benefits in catching people with guns and preventing mass shootings. This can also scare people in to not try and bring guns into places that could potentially have this technology. When a person is not aware he is being scanned for a gun he is not likely to be careful and it could catch many people.…[Read more]

The courses that have helped me the most throughout my internship have been MIS 3506 (Business Analyst) and MIS 3535 (Project Management). I learned all the terminology to start and finish a real world project in a business setting and also the ability to lead a real project from start to finish. 3506 taught me how to collect requirements, model…[Read more]

I think that there is alot of room for improvement for transportation in the future and this could be one of the new emerging transportation technologies. This idea would be cool if people are able to travel faster and to their destination more efficiently.

I think cryptocurrency has a lot of room for hacking and might not be the most secure investment that one can make. Whenever a large amount of money is involved and possibilities are out there for people to take, ways will be found. With cryptocurrency growing and still fairly new I think the room for others to hack is also growing. Although I am…[Read more]

Jurgen Aliaj wrote a new post, Uber wants to start flying you to your destination, on the site MIS4596 SEC 002 Spring 2018 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Uber has made a promise that it will invest and lead innovation for inner-city transport. The next move for Uber is Short-Haul flights ? The company’s head of products wants to offer customers more varieties a […]

This technology is incredible, it would be very convenient to travel on one of these planes. It seems like a lot of big players are in the space, hopefully innovation speeds up so it’s ready sooner rather than later.
Check out this company’s website, they have a video demonstrating their electric VTOL vehicle.

It would certainly be interesting if Uber was to progress with this idea as it would likely lead to a continuation of its success in the transportation industry. It would be helpful for passengers, but the dangers are also apparent as air travel will always bring safety concerns. This especially holds true if the crafts are self-flying.
-
I think that this idea is very thought out and could potentially solve the problem of heavy traffic. However, Uber is widely used and in high demand. I wonder how many would be accessible in each city. For example, Los Angeles which has a high population, would need a specific amount of these aircrafts in order to reduce traffic because if not, it would essentially be useless. In addition, how would Uber control the amount of aircrafts being used at the same time as this could potentially cause safety issues.
-
It would be awesome if Uber can get that going. Having drones fly people around for inner-city transportation would be very interesting to see. I think they would be used very frequently in cities where traffic is very high. Could also be helpful for getting people to hospitals more quickly. I think it is definitely possible to have another transportation device that could locally fly passengers, if a company wants to put enough time and resources into it. A flying vehicle probably could cause some safety problems, but I think it would be more helpful than harmful.
-
Absolutely helpful. But I think we’re a little far off from this becoming a widespread and accessible transportation method. Air travel is highly complex and expensive to maintain so even with full autonomy, providers like Uber will need to pay high maintenance bills to keep a fleet of these vehicles in the air. I think what’s more realistic in the next decade or so is the increase in autonomous ground travel, and hopefully a more robust high-speed rail travel. (Hyperloop?)
-
The future of transportation is looking pretty good with uber short-haul flights and musk’s hyperloop transit. It is a very exciting time for innovation and creativity, especially because the need for it is pressing. With cities over populating and people trying to get to their destinations fast, a solution like what Uber is promising will be a perfect solution. However, the biggest question is how safe it will be? and how affordable? these are the two biggest challenges for bringing a project like Vertical takeoff and landing aircraft uber to life.

Although I think the idea of blockchain technology is innovative and has many benefits I don’t see many companies using it in the future unless it develops some sort of stability. The value of coins is constantly changing and if drastic drop were to occur the value of that money will drop if physical currency is still driving the value of coins. T…[Read more]

Jurgen Aliaj wrote a new post, The Future of Automobiles, on the site MIS4596 SEC 002 Spring 2018 2 months, 1 week ago
Technology is advancing every day and it is also reshaping our driving experience. What the world has been accustomed to in driving for the past 50 – 60 years is forever changing. Cars are increasingly bec […]
-
I think that the days of self driven, gas powered automobiles are numbered. The benefits of automation in the driving world are too obvious. Not only from a safety perspective but also from a logistics and supplying perspective. Robots don’t need to sleep, use the bathroom, or ever stop, making them ideal truck drivers. We will need to find a way to incorporate existing drivers so that the loss of driving based work doesn’t leave millions of people immediately without a job, though.
-
I think that autonomous vehicles will be an extremely positive experience when they become available to consumers. The effect the technology could have in preventing accidents and making the roads safer will be revolutionary once the technology is fully developed. However, I think we still have quite a bit of time to wait before this becomes mainstream. I think the fact that Uber and Lyft have already introduced us to the idea of ride-sharing will lead to autonomous ride-sharing being more common than actual consumer ownership of the self-driving vehicles. It will certainly be interesting to see what the state or transportation is 20 years from now.
-
Self-driving cars are an interesting concept. The benefits that they will provide us are enhancing our productivity, minimizing accidents, and more efficient traveling. If all of the cars on the roads were autonomous, driving from one place to another would be faster since the vehicles would be in sync with each other allowing them to travel quicker than the current speed limits. Google has had self-driving cars at its headquarters in California the last couple of years for its employees; however, recently the company announced it would be testing the ride-sharing market. Uber and Lyft were worried by the announcement and strategized to implement autonomous cars but Waymo (Google’s self-driving car company) sued Uber’s car company Otto for infringement, resulting in a loss of $245 million. How long will it take before Waymo takes over the ride-sharing business and companies like Uber and Lyft fall behind?
-
I think that self driving cars will definitely end up bringing a positive driving experience in the future. There are many benefits that can come from self driving cars like less accidents and safer roads. Also, with technology always advancing, I do believe that gasoline and diesel powered cars will soon diminish on the roads. Uber and Lyft have already changed the driving experience for many. Some people have chosen to not buy cars anymore and just travel by Lyft and Uber. Also, it made it safer for people when going out to drink alcohol because they could take Uber or Lyft instead of drinking and driving.

This is really interesting news. Before reading this article, I never heard about this before. 3-D printing is starting to seem like its trying to get into every industry because I just read an article where a company is using 3-D printing to make homes for a low cost. Now, if this 3-D food printing was to work, I think it will be useful in places that serve food to many people at a time. For example, I think this could be useful in places like homeless shelters to feed the many homeless people who need food. Also, I think this could be useful in school cafeterias where there are many students since it can serve food at mass scales.
I think 3-D food printing is a step up of the 3-D printing technology. 3-D food printing can bring out the art of the foods and balanced nutrition to our body. However, I think 3-D food printing would take time to sell to the public for personal needs. Like the article said, it’s time-consuming to make foods, and even the food will be more wholesome, people are still considering the flavor and ease of daily cooking.
The industrialization of everything is a trend of modern world. 3D print tech makes it possible to costumize needs whlie keeping the high efficiency of food production. It will be used in the food product line one the tech is mature. It will also raise the acceleration of industrialization in food industry.
