Every time a Holiday is approaching, most people seem to gravitate around it in conversation and in making plans. Easter has been the current buzz. It’s funny to think about why people like certain holidays so much. I admit I romanticize these holidays, as most members of society do, and ignore the initial purpose. People like Christmas because of caroling, ice skating, presents, cookies, and Santa Claus. Most people like Easter so much because of candy and the beginning of spring. Here is a meme I stumbled upon highlighting a romanticized perk of Easter:

There is a viral meme right now regarding a photo someone took during a race. The picture is funny/interesting because everyone in the picture looks tired and worn out from doing rigorous physical activity. The one guy photographed is participating in the race at what seems to be the same speed as everyone else but is picture perfect in the photo. This photo has been all over various social media platforms and has been turned into memes based on it. Here is a funny one I found with the photogenic runner in it:
The joke of the meme is that this guy is invincible and just a natural born winner. Have you seen as much presence as I have with this meme?

It is terrifying to see what happens to child actors as they grow up in the limelight. Macaulay Culkin, Britney Spears, Danny Bonaduce, Brad Renfro, Todd Bridges, and Michael Jackson are all examples of child stars who were no longer in the limelight for their popularity but more so their controversy. No one takes the heat more so than Lindsay Lohan. I recently have been seeing this YouTube video highlighting her demise from the present back to when she was first featured in a film. It’s alarming to see the harm her body has undergone from drugs, eating disorders, and drinking. Take a look:
As a left-winded individual I found this meme funny regarding the upcoming election. Social media has been incorporated heavily into this election more so than any that has occurred in the past. Politicians have a heavy Twitter and Facebook presence and other social media users are getting involved as well. I found this meme on Tumblr highlighting a Liberal’s take on the politicians involved:
What is your take on these politicians?

While I was at my internship on Tuesday, I had the opportunity to briefly interview one of the GuestCounts Hospitality employees about working with social media. Celesia Hester said that her biggest trouble with social media is that everything is searchable. “When I am looking for a specific topic on a search engine whether it is related to GuestCounts or any unrelated topic, irrelevant information easily appears despite what search engine you are using. Search engines are sensitive and any SEO can be picked up and show information that is irrelevant. SEO specialists are working on this everyday, but once this gliches improve then my job will become more enjoyable.” Celesia is a Marketing Coordinator for the firm who relies heavily on social media to accurately do her job. “Social media is constantly evolving as well. Working in this field causes your work to follow you home. When you are in the office you are using social media to complete certain tasks, but if you do not go home and research what is new in social media then you are putting yourself at a serious disadvantage.”
The reason I went to school for business is because a business degree has a higher chance of getting into your career immediately with a salary. A meme I found on Flickr reflects the art that a young man did while making lattes at his job as a barista. The irony of this is that this individual spent over 100K on his education, undergraduate and graduate school in the arts. After all this money was wasted to make minimum wage at a coffee shop, he was at least able to use his creativity to generate a memorable meme. This is art he created while making lattes for costumers.
Although the hourly wage does not reflect his work, his degree was put to good use!

I found this meme about the different ways different countries/cultures refer to soccer as. This meme is humorous, but also reflects how although culture around the world is extremely different, it is similar at the same time since so many different countries enjoy soccer.
At the end of the meme, it is frowned upon that people in the UK refer to soccer as ‘football.’ Although it seems strange it still relates to culture being similar since it is the same sport revered around the world.

Most of our society is anxiously awaiting the upcoming election. It’s a war between liberals and conservatives and rightfully so. We have been in a recession, jobs are scarce, student loan debt is prevalent and detrimental to college graduates, etc. As a left-wing individual, I favor the potential decisions of the liberal candidates. I dislike the conservative candidates and think this meme I stumbled upon explains why.
If you are liberal like me do you find this meme humorous? Do you think there is accuracy in it?
