Build Your Own Study Guide

A study guide for exams will not be provided. Each week as you complete your assigned readings students will be challenged to create their own study guides. A document has been provided (below) for you to use as a template for creating your study guide. The template includes an outline of the course and links to the assigned reading for each unit. Following each link is a list of short questions that students should answer as they complete their assigned reading. Completed study guides will be used as follows:

  1. In-Class Discussions – As we cover material, students will be called upon at random to discuss what they have recorded in their study guide. Please be sure to populate your study guide as you complete your assigned reading and please be sure to bring your study guide with you to each and every class.
  2. Exam Week Activities – In the week leading up to each exam students will share with each other some of the information that they have included in their study guides. Students will NOT be permitted to take pictures of another student’s study guide! Please be sure to bring your study guide to these class meetings.
  3. Exam preparation – As you prepare for your exams, your study guide will be a valuable tool to help you be successful on the exams.
