Assignment 3 fix about “Safe update”
If you had received an error message: You are using safe update mode and you tried to update a table without a WHERE that uses a KEY column.
Do the following to fix it:
1.Go the Edit menu and select Preferences.
2.Select the “SQL Editor Tab”
3.Uncheck the “Safe Updates” box
4.Close MySQL Workbench and restart the program. This will let you make “unsafe” updates. But be careful!
Setting up SAS OnDemand Account
Here are the instructions for setting up your SAS OnDemand account. We will need this starting on March 21. However, you should set this up immediately to avoid problems; sometimes there are delays in approving your student license for the software. If your account isn’t set up, you can’t complete the assignments!!
SAS OnDemand requires that you have the Java Runtime Environment installed on your computer. The labs have this, but your home PC may not. So first, get the right version of the Java environment here (you can also get it from the Java web site by going through the setup instructions, but this is easier).
For Mac users: Java should come pre-installed with OSX. Check here for more information.
Then follow the instructions step-by-step to create your account. It’s not difficult, but there are a lot of steps and you must follow them carefully.
