  • My PM team has finally met with the engineering team on Monday 9/26. The engineering team briefed us on their project. They are making a prosthetic hand with joint movement mimicking the reaction time and strength of a real hand using ninitol alloy which becomes easily manipulated at certain temperatures and returns to their original shape at the opposite extreme. We are currently making a schedule for them to outline their tasks for the upcoming week. The team is currently in the modeling and testing phase with the 3d printed hand to be delivered and assembled by Monday for functional testing.

  • Our team met with Courtney on Monday on web ex and she gave us feedback on how to improve our documents. Budget may need to be reviewed. Charter needs to be worked on. We were able to gather more insight to the project because of interview 2 with Rachel Carr.

  • We will need to discuss project execution as a team.

  • This week our team is meeting on Friday to review their first round of interviews with the TFR division leads to create a draft of the WBS. Each team member was assigned division leaders for each system that they head. Our PMs were strategically placed with individuals whose work was similar. Our team will also revisit the schedule and include a new devision that has come into scope. We have also scheduled five meetings with Courtney over the course of the semester to check our progress.

Everyone was able to meet up last week and we were able to critique their scopes in preparation for their next class. On top of all of this, we have set up a Google Drive for our BAs to be able to share their work for us to review. The BAs also had their second interview which some of us were able to attend; they got a lot of useful information from this interview.

    Goals for next week:
Our team plans to continue to have weekly PM meetings as well as meetings with our BAs. We hope to have drafts of other documentations of the project such as the risk management plan, communications plan, quality management plan, and change management plan.
