I agree that Facebook should be banned in the workplace. Facebook is a social tool that incorporates a person’s life and involves issues not dealt with within the workplace. As such bring these issues into a working environment will only lead to problems and disruptions. Facebook is a distraction that I personally find interrupt my daily activities, and thusly see its effect on a person and see it as a possible problem if allowed in the workplace. Facebook is known to lower productivity and when seen on a company level, hours upon hours are lost. Facebook present security risks and interpersonal risk as mixing work and personal lives can get messy. I would prefer a company that banned Facebook as I know myself and I would be too tempted to visit. I would also work for a company that allows Facebook but realize that I would have to take personal steps to restrict myself. Bottom line I would work.
