Foursquare is a location-based mobile platform that makes navigating through places easier and more exciting to explore. This service is available to users with GPS enabled mobile phone, such as smartphones. Simply by checking in you can share your current location with families and friends while accumulating points and virtual badges. The more check in you have the more you will earn points and badges.
Foursquare leads real-life experiences by letting you save information about sites that you want to visit and related recommendations about venues within proximity. Companies can use the foursquare platform by using a wide-ranging set of tools to acquire, engage, and retain customers.
Since I joined Foursquare, I thought it would be better to explore the site a bit. Within the privacy setting, you’re allowed to link Facebook and Twitter account to your Foursquare account. You can limit the amount of date you will share by simply editing option on the privacy setting page.
I decided to follow some companies: Wall Street Journal, Bon Appetit Magazine, Mashable, Zagat, and MTV. I can’t wait to dive deeper into this site. It seem to have high potential for further growth in the future.
