Social media is changing every aspects of our lives in daily life, one of these is dating and the way we go about it. Compared to the “traditional” way of dating , where if we meet someone attractive we would have had to physically go and interact with the guy or girl. People would meet in many places such as school, work, social events, or even the person next door. How’s about nowadays? Sure, people still try to find love at work or going out but with social media, things become a bit easier. With social sites and through the online dating websites, people can communicate and date with each other without moving form their computer; this even leads to marriage in some cases.

These websites attract both men and women since people are very busy with daily life and dealing with other things so they find Facebook or the other social networks a comfort zone. Here they can express their feeling and love without shame or embarrassment of actually getting rejected in person. These many dating websites allow you to preview potential mates and find a match before you even send one message. According to the statistic, Only 5% of the population is using a paid dating site at any given point in time and another 5% a free dating site. The real focus of most of the top dating sites is how to get the other 90% of the population to start using dating sites.

Like you know, social media is affecting our everyday lives and it continues to influence the way we do things each day. We can not do anything besides accept and welcome it. There are a lot of dating services booming nowadays and people welcome by supporting and following it. Here are my questions for you all:

Do you think marriages from these online sites will lead to a higher rate of divorce in the future or reduce it?

Do you prefer meeting someone and asking them out in person or online? What about being asked out?

Please let me know what is your opinion?
