Mexico’s Drug Lord Thanks US Presidents

“Top billionaire Mexican drug lord (ranks #701 on Forbes list of the world’s richest people) “b*tch slaps five American presidents” by saying “I couldn’t have gotten so stinking rich without George Bush, George Bush, Jr., Ronald Regan and even El Presidente Obama, none of them have the cojones to stand up to all of the big money that wants to keep this stuff illegal. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say “Gracias Amigos” I owe my whole empire to you.” ”

This video refers to the biggest drug dealer in the world thanking the US presidents for not legalizing marijuana and other drugs, thus causing the sales price to be extraordinarily high so he can ship from his country into the US. The War on Drugs is a waste of our tax dollars, I’ve never used drugs nor do i have any reason to but even I see the point of making drugs legal in the US.

What do you think about the war on drugs? Is it a waste of money?

Some argue that if all drugs were legal then all people would do drugs, BUT this is not true, all drugs were legalized in Portugal and the addiction rates fell by half!

The war on drugs clearly is not working.

  • It’s hard to say whether the war on drugs is a waste of money because there are pros and cons to each side. I know that California now receives large quantities of money from taxing medical marijuana from its dispensaries. If our country legalized it, they too would benefit from extra tax dollar revenue. Marijuana is about the only drug I think you could make an argument for legalizing as the pros seem to outweigh the cons.

A few years ago, Philadelphia decriminalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana. This is not making it legal, but the city saved over a million dollars by not having to deal with charging and prosecuting cases of minor possession. This is on top of the fact that it has well documented medicinal purposes and can relieve extreme pain victims when other prescription drugs can not. So, I would say that the war on marijuana is probably a waste of money, but as far as other drugs go there are a lot more complications.

  • This is pretty interesting how the california government makes their money. In other words, i guess it makes sense to tax the medical marijuana because it will control people abusing the drug. This is a perfect example of controlling moral hazard. Since people will have to pay a havier fee, it will stop people from abusing it.

  • Even regards to harder drugs such as cocaine and heroin, Portugal was able to achieve lower rates of addiction by legalization. Legalization clearly works in other countries, why can’t it work here? Their budget from the war on drugs went directly to counseling and other ways to help those addicted rather than simply jail them.

  • I believe the war on drugs is a waste of tax payer’s money because Americans have not seen any significant results from these operations.Sure, we have seen a few large bust, but did it really slow down drug operations. Many countries that legalized drugs have seen crimes and addiction rates drop.

  • David is right, war on drugs is pointless. If they stop one way of smuggling drugs, people will adapt and find a new way.

  • That is a big burn on the presidents he mentions. Does Mexico not really go after these type of people or is it because he has too much power? Either way its crazy how he is on the Forbes list of the worlds richest people and he’s a drug lord.

  • We are wasting billions of tax dollars fighting this useless war on drugs. However, I don’t approve Forbes putting him on the list of world’s richest people. Drug lords don’t file tax returns and have bank statements with amount of money they have. A lot of it is an estimate and can be bogus.

  • A very interesting Post. I definitely agree with everyone above, I agree that the war is really a waste on tax payer’s money mainly because there are no positive results.
