Currently, I have read the book called “No Bullshit Social Media: The All-business, No-hype Guide to Social Media Marketing” by Jason Falls and Erik Deckers. The main idea of this book is telling people who are still uncertain and think social media is playing on the Internet as opposed to a strategic communications method that runs business.
Jason Falls, founder of Social Media Explorer, an award-winning social media strategist. Erik Deckers, the co-owner and VP of Creative Services for Professional Blog Service in Indianapolis.
Falls and Deckers believe that using social media marketing can very drive a business success. There are three main parts in this book:
1st, Social Media is for Hippies. Social Media Marketing Is for Business.
2nd, How Social Media Marketing Really Works.
3rd, Get Off Your Ass, Would Ya!
Why I like this book because it is not an introduction to social media, but to social media marketing strategy. It taught me how to correctly using social media for business: understand what social media can do and help to decide what you want it to do for business; also, show to measure what it can do for business. For instant, in chapter 2, “It’s Not Them; It’s You!” it taught me understand that my hesitation with social media has less to do with the fact, my audience has changed and more to do with the fact I haven’t.
