I learned about this during an ethics class from one of my professors. He mentioned that this could potentially be useful especially if you want to stay on alert about what is happening in your industry. I actually did not even think about using this until I had a project to do for my Risk Capstone, and it proved to be very beneficial giving me up to date information for my report.

My key take-away that I received from social media innovations were
the things like dropbox that further enhanced my value of social media.
Before this class, I never fully realized how much value was in social media
and what it all encompassed. I had no idea that there are programs like drop
box, masher, vimeo, prezi, etc. These are valuable tools to not only be more
creative when pitching business plans for someone like me in the business field,
but also it’s a good way to manage time and organize a large group of people
for work.

Our last discussion question on viral marketing I thought was interesting. It seems to be that
pretty much anything you do could be thought of as viral marketing. You just telling your friends
about a new product you heard about or like is a form of viral marketing. Sulay Desai write in his blog,
“tweeting links t download it because I want other people to hear it”. I agree that I like to tell my friends
about new music I find out, especially if I think my friends will enjoy it. I think this is a great way of marketing
a product cause im more than likely to listen to a friends recommendations.
I also read Matthew Tutlemans post on the subject matter and he brought up a an example of viral marketing that I never really thought about.
I also thought about joining one of those pyramid schemes when I was in highschool because a friend of mine was participating in it, and he actually
made quite a lot of money. he started when we were freshmen, and by the time we were juniors, we had recruited a lot of friends through word of mouth.
Because of all the people he had under him, He started bringing in checks of around 400-500 a month without even having to do work. This is a really
good use of viral marketing to increase awareness of a new product through face to face interaction and also, it ended up paying off well for him.

I got 4 badges on 4square!
The first one is the Newbie badge for getting my first checkin.
“Adventurer” this was the next badge I got for getting 10 checkins
“Explorer” After getting my 2nd badge, I got this one for checking into my 25th place.

“Super User” this is the latest badge I got. Even though the number on this one was 50, I got it for my 30th checkin checkin.
“Crunked” I just got this badge for checking into 4 places in one night.
I finally got Four Square working recently and have been trying to rack up some poitns for it
Pretty much what four square is, a social media tool that lets you tell people where you are,
write a quick comment about the place and sometimes the places offer you discounts. You can
even collect four square badges.
