Three Ways of Flash Animation
There are three ways to create animation in Flash:
- Art-based animation
- Shape tween animation
- Motion tween animation

These files are in the .swf format, the Web-publishable format of Flash. You can watch the movies but not open them and edit them in Flash. You can also download the editable .fla files from Blackboard under COURSE DOCUMENTS.
Working with Flash
Flash is the animation and interactivity tool of choice on 99 percent of Web sites. Flash is a versatile program that is used all over the Web to create photo slideshows, interactive presentations with audio, video and photos; animation; and Web site navigation. We are going to learn how to use Flash to create photo slideshows with or without audio.
Animation is a very effective storytelling tool. Here are some examples of animation in action:
