I enjoyed our in-class conversations about different devices and how we need to secure them. I hope the take-away was that “we need to secure our operating system…for the following ________”; where in your mind you have a couple of good items to fill in the blank.
We also talked about who might be responsible, this we touched on in class as it could be a developer of an entire organization. The output should be the same a secure device, computer, and/or car. We will look at the OS as our main focus, but in some cases that might only be at best someone got onto our operating system.
This week I want to focus our posts in helping each other with building a LAB environment on your computer. Post about your issues and how you fixed them and help others if they have questions.
If everything is up and running here are the couple of topics of “In the News” from slide 8:
- Adobe, Microsoft Push Critical Security Fixes
- Extortionists Wipe Thousands of Databases, Victims Who Pay Up Get Stiffed
If anyone has an questions please reach out and I will get back to you asap.
Thank you Neil, he found the two pages on the community site and sent them to me in an e-mail: They are as follows: http://community.mis.temple.edu/technology/get-microsoft-software/ once there there is a link to the download center at: MSDNAA Software Center site; you will need to log on with your temple account to gain access to the Microsoft Imagine Premium tab. That is where you will be able to download the ISOs and Keys if you have not already done so. If there are any questions please let me know.
