Following the introduction to myself, I want to share thoughts about data analytics and why it is crucial in any organization nowadays.
First, data analytics refers to the process of “examining data sets to draw conclusions about the information they contain.” According to Forbes, more organizations look to deal with the explosion of data and the opportunity presented by having better analytics. In other words, businesses need to understand the data in order to make important business decision.
Data is always available, the crucial part is to know how to put it into action, which means accessing, analyzing and organizing it in a way that would improve business performance. Data analytics if done correctly can give businesses competitive advantage, and enhance productivity in any industry. On the other hand, if not handled properly, valuable data may lead to problems such as different departments within a company not understanding how to use it or share it, which would eventually create more work and impact productivity.
More importantly, companies should not see data as the responsibility of IT only. Data is an important resource that should be used across departments in an organization for maximum benefits. “By ignoring data or treating it as unimportant, business leaders do their companies a huge disservice when it comes to staying ahead of the game.”
