Experience

Halliburton Accounting Intern. Halliburton is one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry. With nearly 70,000 employees in approximately 80 countries, the company serves the upstream oil and gas industry throughout the lifecycle of the reservoir – from locating hydrocarbons and managing geological data, to drilling and formation evaluation, well construction and completion, and optimizing production through the life of the field. This company gave me my first opportunity to familiarize myself in the accounting field since I was an intern during the summer of 2009. I got to assist with month-end financial reports, post journal entries, help with accounts receivable, data entry, and credit checks. It was a wonderful experience.

Petrobras Accounting Intern. Petrobras is a world-renowned company for their ultra-deep water oil exploration technology. After my experience with Halliburton, I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge a bit more, so I spend the summer of 2011 as an accounting intern in such prestigious oil company. As an intern, I was responsible for assisting with the month-end financial reports, posting journal entries, helping with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation, assisting with audits, managing the monthly tracking of their physical inventory, and supporting the payment processing team. It was a once in a lifetime experience which made me very grateful for having it.

Academics

Temple University, Philadelphia PA. I have attended Temple University since spring of 2012. I am an accounting major who is eager to learn the required skill to succeed in this competitive world. The Fox School of Business is one of the most highly recognized business schools in the country. I expect to obtain a Bachelor’s of Business Administration by May 2013.

Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell PA. I went to Montgomery County Community College in the fall of 2009 and got my associates degree in Business Administration in the fall of 2011. I graduated with a high GPA and was in the Dean’s list throughout those two years.

Arcadia University, Glenside PA. I attended Arcadia University the fall of 2008 and transferred after the spring semester of 2009. Even though Arcadia University is a great school, I did not think it was for me. Anyways, I grew up a lot while at Arcadia for the reason being that it was my first year away from my family. It was a great experience.

Santa Cruz Cooperative School, Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

SCCS was the high school I went to in Bolivia. It is one of the few American schools in the country and teaches its students the importance of a great education. There, English became my second language and United States became the place where I vision myself getting my bachelors from.

As an international student, I plan to absorb as much knowledge as I can while studying at Temple University, and take it all back to my hometown Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and implement it all there. Since Bolivia is a third world country, my goal is to help develop my city with my own accounting firm. I can help businesses progress and help them develop with the accounitng techiques use here in United States. I see myelf as a very successful business woman who owns and runs her own company while helping her country be a better place.
