Bquipped
Bquipped is a dynamic and cutting edge sports technology startup company which aims to match athletes with the perfect equipment based off of player survey data that powers Bquipped’s proprietary equipment finder applications. These applications are leveraged as a SaaS technology, and used in strategic partnership with equipment brands and sports organizations.
As a Sports Technology Intern at Bquipped, I am responsible for a variety of tasks focused on data analytics, business development, web design, and more. I have spent a lot of time using Excel and Tableau to work with data, and this has become a passion of mine. I use ETL processes to integrate and normalize player survey data making it compatible with Tableau. Tableau is then used to create visualizations and dashboards for identifying trends and uncovering insights in the data. This work is used to develop our SaaS applications and further our strategic partnerships. In addition, A lot of my time has been spent on pioneering an Ice Hockey data initiative to expand the company value proposition. All of my work on this project is aimed at creating an ice hockey stick finder application that has the potential to help hockey players on a global scale. I also assist in our CMS, Social Media, and website maintenance.
I have learned a lot of very valuable skills while working at Bquipped, and it has been a great experience. It has been nice to fuse my passions for both sports and technology into one, and be able to help athletes everywhere. My interest in data analytics has grown immensely from this internship and I am definitely planning to perusing a career in something data-centric.
