Project Solutions Intern – Toll Brothers
This past summer I spent my time as an It intern on the Business Solutions Consultant team at Toll Brothers. As the intern I worked under my IT Manager, Eric Masterson.
As the Business Solutions Intern I was involved in supporting the Business Solutions Consultant team in executing the current state process assessment project. I was primarily responsible for maintaining the documentation in the team SharePoint environment. Documentation was collected from a number of sources including file shares, email inboxes and other web content management systems. My job was to load these documents onto our SharePoint site and tag each document appropriately for efficient retrieval. I also was tasked with documenting the sessions/meetings in real time.
This internship also required the creation of a market analysis of new homebuilders in the 5 distinct regions being evaluated. I was asked to create a powerpoint presentation for each region and delivered this to my team at the end of every two weeks. This presentation provided the business solutions team an advanced understanding of the real estate market the home building teams were working in. The market analysis mainly focused on competition pricing, amenities, and the location of communities in relation to major attractions in the area.
This internship provided me with an abundant amount of information, including both soft and hard skills, as well as improving my business knowledge. Both living in and seeing how a successful company runs their everyday IT program really fascinated me. This internship has prepared me for future success in the IT world.
