What is the AAA?

Most people who are studying to go into the insurance industry know about the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. However, not as many know much about the American Academy of Actuaries, or AAA.

The American Academy of Actuaries describes itself as, “A D.C.-based 17,500-member professional association whose mission is to serve the public and the U.S. actuarial profession. Academy members include consultants, corporate executives and staff, regulators, government officials, academicians, and retired actuaries. Their areas of practice cover pensions, life insurance, casualty insurance, health insurance, financial reporting, risk management, and more.”
